I'm off to Lucky FABB!

I snapped this pic of the Kardashian sisters talking business and fashion at last year's Lucky FABB conference. And you have to love the other bloggers in full on work mode also documenting their talk.

This weekend I'm heading out to California for Lucky magazine's Fashion and Beauty Blog (FABB) conference to get inspiration for my new "Beauty Meets Decor" weekly feature, meet other bloggers and learn more about how brands are currently collaborating with bloggers. It's always a good time. Oh, and the talented Kelly Wearstler will be there. Can we say WINNING!!

And P.S., you can view the live stream of the conference on Monday, April 30, so not to worry at all.

Houston's Hotel Sorella Gets an A+ for Its Decor

I traveled to Houston for a wedding last week and had a wonderful stay at Hotel Sorella. The decor was amazing, and I couldn't get enough of all the chandelier choices throughout the hotel. This green glass one was my favorite.

I also liked this pretty woodwork on a wall across from the hotel's check-in area.

Beauty Meets Decor: Giorgio Armani's Eyes to Kill & The Glamourai's Home

For an evening look, I love a good smoky eye. While doing my usual run-through of all my favorite blogs today, I couldn't contain my excitement when I spotted a review of Giorgio Armani's Eyes to Kill eye shadow in Obsidian Black ($32) on crystalis007 (also one of my faves to watch on YouTube). The shadow has this intense, deep black color with just the right amount of shimmer, and it's just so gorgeous. I have to have it. Because it's the kind of shadow that makes such a bold statement, I'd keep the rest of my makeup super simple to give this beauty the full attention it deserves.

The black color of the shadow led me to reminisce about my favorite photo of an interior that uses black accent pieces really well without feeling drab at all. And that photo is of the place The Glamourai calls home. Her living room is styled to perfection and the decor could easily suit a man or woman without any issues at all, which can be quite hard to achieve at times. Don't you love it?

Entertain in Style with Society Social's Sedgewick Bar Cart

If I were to buy a bar cart, it would be this faux bamboo gold one from Society Social. So, so good. Who wouldn't want to host a party or two or three just to show this cutie off? It runs for $439.

Will You Get Into the 'Domino Quick Fixes' Special Edition?

I've raved and raved about Domino magazine on this blog so many times that I was a bit reluctant to write this post here. Forgive me if it's overkill. Anyway, a special edition of the beloved publication, Domino Quick Fixes, will be available on newsstands nationwide on Tuesday, April 17. I've been following the buzz online, especially via Twitter, about this launch, as some people have been lucky enough to snag a copy early. Although I'm excited to see a new iteration of the magazine, I'm a little skeptical about whether it will live up to the Domino many of us adored so much. I don't know about you, but I'll be scanning every newsstand I come across over the next few days to see if I can purchase a copy a bit early. Wish me luck! Also check out Curbed's first look at the publication.

Spring Cleaning Tips on Sheckys.com

If you're in need of a little project to tackle this weekend, check out the spring cleaning tips I shared with Sheckys.com. Of course, cleaning isn't my favorite thing in the world to do, but I suggested a few ideas on how to make the process just a little bit more fun. And if you didn't know, I write a home-decorating related post for the website once a month, so stay tuned for next month's topic.

Beauty Meets Decor: Inspiration from Nars' Exhibit A Blush

One of my latest must-have beauty products is the Exhibit A blush from Nars. When you first look at the color, you definitely feel a bit intimidated by how bright and pigmented it is. It seriously scared me for a very long time, but after hearing so many people rave about it, I had to put it to the test myself. And let me tell youI'm so glad I did. My only advice is to use it with caution. I can't stress this point enough. Since it's so pigmented, it's crucial that you apply it with a very, very light hand. Otherwise, you'll quickly look like a mad person with rosy red cheeks. Ha. (This happened to me the first time I played around with it.)

The gorgeous red color of Exhibit A led me to think about how fabulous this shade would look in a room. I'm not the kind of person to paint a room red, or even go for a red sofa. Instead, I like the idea of using a bright color like this for a major accessory of some kind. This led me to this photo of a New York bedroom with stunning red silk curtains. It's a bit exotic, has a luxurious feel and just screams, "Look at me." It's kind of how I feel when I'm wearing Exhibit A. It's that kind of party.

Ideeli's Spring Preview Event

Last week I stopped by Ideeli's spring press preview event here in NYC and spotted this cute outdoor rug and some gardening accessories. So good.
