Are you familiar the 'Designer Series' on the Williams Sonoma Home website? It's full of candid interviews from design experts (think Grant Gibson, Alexa Hampton, Carolyne Roehm...) about common decorating issues ranging from working with a small space to infusing art into a room. It's worth checking out.

In case you missed the memo, Lonny is offering polished, bound print copies for a fee. Nice idea, especially for those of us who just can't break away from holding beautiful magazine pages.

Those who miss Domino should be delighted about the launch of the Rue web-only magazine from Editor in Chief Crystal Gentilello. It definitely has a Lonny vibe, as it uses the same Issuu platform where you can turn pages like a print issue. My favorites in the mag are the Grant Gibson feature highlighting the design stores he likes to visit in Sacramento, a list of favorite things from Holly Becker of the decor8 blog and Ronda Carman of All the Best, a Q&A with Habitually Chic's Heather Clawson, and the beautiful images of Gentilello's Chicago apartment. I'm looking forward to future issues!

The Soul of a House (published by Rizzoli) from Chris Madden is hitting bookshelves on October 19 and promises to be filled with practical advice from the designer on decorating your home with the goal of turning it into a haven. Plus, there are photos of her family's carriage house in upstate New York. I plan to review the book in the coming weeks, but for now, here's an audio preview to wet your appetite.
